Hello,
I was attempting to secure my Windows 2000 Server by disabling
unnessescary services, like file and printer sharing, RPC calls, etc.
Since I disabled these services I cannot get a Properties page to open
from the MMC. I
t never loads, but then if I try to close the MMC it says "You must
close all dialogue boxes first". There is no dialogue box for me to
close so I have to use the task manager to close it manually.
I need IIS on this computer, and I think one of the services I
disabled was an IIS dependency. What is the full list of IIS
dependecies? World Wide Web Publishing Service is disabled and when I
try to start it I get an error message:
"Could not load the World Wide Web Publishing Service on Local
Computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start".
I tried starting IIS admin and got the same error.
This is really urgent, so I would appreciate any help anyone has.
Thank you so much
