Slow response with client certificates

Hi, all

I have a web application (Windows 2000 SP4, IIS5, ASP) that uses client
certificates.

When the client connects to the homepage, the popup window appears stating
that the client should select a client certificate for the application. When
the client selects the certificate, there is a great time delay before the
full load of the page.

Also, all other features of the application (site uses SSL all the time) are
very, very slow.

If I remove the client certificates feature (and leave the server
certificate only), the server respondes ok.

Any ideas?

Tony
