Hi,
I have a system running Win2k professional and I have
applied SP4 also.
a) When I type in http://localhost in IE 6.0 I got HTTP
500 Internal error .
In the Windows event viewer, under Security log I found
the following message for audit failure :
Logon Failure:
Reason: The user has not been granted the requested
logon type at this machine
User Name: IUSR_my_machine name
Domain: my machine name
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: IIS
Authentication Package:
MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Workstation Name: my machine name
This is happening when I am logging into a domain with
an id say "x" and this id "x" has administrators
permissions on the local machine
I do not have any id on the local machine.
But I tried connecting as the local admin after creating a
local id but still the same problem comes.
I browsed the Net for all sorts of newsgroups and
discussion forums and I have applied so many suggested
fixes, still it isnt working. This is happening not only
on my machine but also on all machines here where win 2k
was installed using the image which was used to install it
in my system.
If i dont solve it immediately I would be in big trouble
as my project is dependent on this working out.Otherwise i
have to forma all my team member's hard disks and then
install all the humpteen software we have installed so far.
If you know the solution please mail me asap.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Sriram
