Certificate missing when moving from one server to another

I am retiring an old IIS server and need to move its Web certificate to
another server. I follow Microsoft directions to use the Certificate MMC to
export, and on the new server, use the Certificate MMC to import. I check
the certificate info and everythink looks fine, with intended use as "Server
Authentication". I then open IIS service manager, select the web site, its
properties -> directory security -> Server Certificate button -> Assign an
existing certificate. The problem is that the imported certificate is not
shown on the list! As a matter of fact, no certificate is shown on the list.

This certificate does show on the Certificate MMC and also in the IE
browser's Contents -> Certificate, not in IIS admin where I need it. What
should I do to make it appear?
