It puzzled me that it is so difficult to do a search
on "~" in the news groups or KBs. Searching
for "Unidentified file on Desktop" in Google resulted in
Outlook Express being the culprit as you describe. Sorry
that I thought it may have been IIS security or
configuration issue. I've only just started using OE for
quickly testing WS2003 SMTP configuration ... the reason I
never saw the problem before WS2003 was because I never
really used OE before!
