I have a website that is set up to use basic
authentication. So, when the users go to the site, they
just get a Windows pop-up that asks for a userid and
password, no domain box Like Windows authentication. I
have moved this site to another server and when I set it
up EXACTLY the same way (only "Basic Authentication"
checked in the Security tab) and it will not authenticate
anyone. However, if I check "Windows Authentication" it
will work, except it just has the domain text box on the
login screen. It works like that for me at home and also
on our internal network. But, it wont work for outside
customers that site behind a proxy mostly.
I have no idea why it works on the old server but not this
new one. HELP!!!
