Thanks for the reply.
i had some more questions on this .
let me just tell my scenario in short.
i have a asp page that instantiates a vb com dll.
that dll instantiates Microsoft word.
(i know automating office like this is not recommended)

now our client do not want to be logged on to the web
server .

so i am trying to use 'the user' option in dcomcnfg.exe
for 'Microsoft word document' properties.
if i give some domain user who is administrator on the web
server as well, everything works fine.

now i tried to use a different user who is also domain
user but not a administrator on the webserver.this user
can not even do 'iisreset' on web server.
i start getting following error
1)Microsoft Word(5097):There is insufficient memory. Save
the document now

And if i refresh asp page again i get this error
2)Microsoft Word(5981):Could not open macro storage

i have already tried following

#)run dcomcnfg.exe, for properties for microsoft word
document,on security tab
'use custom access permission' i have added this domain
user(not a administrator one)and selected 'allow access'.
i have done the same thing for 'use custom launch
permisson' and 'use custom configuration permisson'.

none of this fixes the problem.
any ideas.

2)http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=257757
secondly i have read in this article that server side
automation can show up some dialog boxes
some times which may cause your application to hang.
now my question is ..
is this applicable even when you have 'interactive user'
selected in docmcnfg.exe.
in other words these dialog boxes would show up only
when 'this user' or 'launching user' is selected in
docomcnfg.exe or it is equally applicable
when 'interactive user' is selected.

Thanks
-sidd
