I am having trouble getting pass through authentication working involving
two servers.
Here are the facts:
1 file server called \\fileserver windows 2000 advanced server
1 web server called \\webserver running IIS 6.0 .net server
I have a share on the fileserver called sharedfolder.
The share has permissions for user: fileserver\user with full control.
in IIS I have a virtual directory called shared mapped to
\\fileserver\sharedfolder.
I have tried just about every possible setting for authentication to work.
I need for the site to prompt for a username/ password when a user tries
http://fileserver/shared/file.txt.
And the user information supplied needs to check the accounts on
\\fileserver for authentication. It keeps denying me.
I really appreciate any input on this, or if I left something out, I can
give more information.
Thanks,
bill
