If you suspect the error is cause by lockdown
urlscan, you can always check the urlscanxxxxxxx.log
at %systemroot%/system32/inetsrv/urlscan/
what's the error when you browse asp pages ? 404
check IIS MMC - application mapping for asp.
urlscan only apply to web not smtp, when you said
down, can you start the service ? 'net start smtpsvc' ??
anything in event log ?
