    Thank for reply, but looks like none of those is true.
    The installation went fine. I had IIS runing with no sites installed. Later
    I did a system update (just downloaded all Windows updates from the net).
    I'm not sure but it looks like since then I can't run IIS manager anymore.
    I looked the system events and there are several messages saying that 'WWW
    server hung on strting...'
    this doesn't explain the reason tough,,,
    To make things a little more interesting I would like to tell you guys -
    this had happened to me 3 times already on the same system within 2 months.

    I'm also wondering if this is possible at all that some misbehaving site can
    cause this.
