I would like to be able to provide links on a web page to Word documents on
an IIS 5.0 web server. I would like to be able to hit the link and have the
document open in the browser window. This application is a corporate
intranet and all clients will have Office 2000 loaded locally.
My problem is as follows:
When the user hits the link, the document is displayed in the browser as
expected. However, if they hit the back button, they are asked for a userid
and password. They can hit cancel and continue.
I can give full access to the IUSR account and this works fine. However,
the site is then open for anyone to publish to.
Any ideas? Is this a known bug?
