I say Nay Nay.

There's a myriad of suggestions/comments that others will probably add to
mine. But here's my initial thoughts for you to get started on..

1. Usually routers these days have hardware firewall support builtin. If so,
I recommend heading over to your router's vendor's website and
cruise around for information on securing yourself.

2. Even WITH hardware firewall support, I'm of the paranoid sort and I run a
software firewall on each of my client machines within the network. I
recommend ZoneAlarm Pro, but there's a few you can try out yourself.

3. What type of router is it? If it's wireless, then people standing outside
of your house can sniff your network traffic that you're broadcasting.
Again, depending upon your router's vendor, do a google search for more
information on locking it down..

4. Make sure you're uptodate on all of your patches/hot-fixes/etc...be as
proactive as possible!

I hope that's enough to get started, and others more knowledgeable than
myself will probably post more..

(Though this topic is PROBABLY considered OT in this forum)
