    FTP setup on 2K Server.

Using CuteFTP, WSftp and command line can log into FTP
server and allowed to access only certain dirs (that's
    good).

However, when using IE to access the FTProot Root folder,
we get the following error: "An error ocurred... Make sure
    you have permissions.."

IUSR_computername and ANON logins are allowed. Perms are:
Read, List Folder for these two accounts).

Even if we try to access a folder using a complete URL (to
which Anonymous has R,LF perms) we still get the same
    error message.

This used to all work fine, the only change made was to
Deny Write to the above user accounts!

This only happens when using the IE Browser.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Richard

If the users have a domain user account, which i assume, because they use RDP to connect to the server, then open the folder properties where the data is stored, go to Security Tab and enable auditing on the folder, choose the user accounts or better create a group, move all user accounts to the group and add the group for auditing. ... using a DC for normal user logons as a Terminal server is a really bad decision from the point of security. ...
