I've had similar problems with other IIS settings disappearing [host
headers, web site friendly name, etc], usually whenever making more than one
change at once. Try making just one change, then stopping and starting just
that web site instance [and/or IIS], then go back in and confirm that your
change took effect. I feel this behavior has to be some sort of bug. Let
me know if this fixes the problem.
