I think you're misunderstanding a couple of things.
standard http is not secure.
https (which you use when you're signing in) IS
if the alerts anoy you, just turn them off like most other folks do (but
keep an eye on your little padlock icon and the address bar)
also, this group is for IIS security, not IE
