Is this q still active?
If so, could I have a little more info please:
1 The admin account used, was it the local Win2k admin or the domain
admin?
2 Have you applied 299444.kb.en-us to the web server (there was an issue
in similar circumstances, see 305379 Authentication Problems in Windows 2000
with NTLM 2 Levels Above 2 in a Windows NT 4.0 Domain
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=305379)
3 sp levels on web server and client machine
4 is the issue experienced by all non-admin users of that box, or just
one user
5 what is the exact error message returned to the client (turn off
friendly error messages in the browser)
6 what do you see in the IIS log for the request
7 do you get an immediate access denied, or do you get a credentials
prompt first.
8 If you turn on auditing for the file being accessed (don't forget to
turn on the policy too), what does the security log say
9 is the web server running anything else (DC, file/print, other
applications)
