For a private internal FTP site for a computer programming class, we
need students to be able to modify their directories in the WWW root.
To do this, we have set the FTP root directory to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot.
Inside wwwroot, there are folders for each user with permissions set
so that they can modify the files inside their own folder, even though
the wwwroot itself (the FTP destination) is set to read-only. Even
with directory permissions allowing modification by the local users
and even setting permissions for the users with the Local Security
Policy to log in locally for the FTP users, access is still denied for
them. I'm sure this has been asked ten zillion times by many
different people but I think I'll ask it again because I can't find
the answer: How in the world can I do this?!
Thank you,
Angelus.
