No need multipost. I guess this is normal that
when you look in the badmail folder,
the xxxxx.bdr file will have this

The specific error code was 0xC00402C7.
The message sender was <>.

But the 'sender' was specify when we send the msg.
so why this type of error show up ? to be honest, I'm
looking for this as well and normally you got
event id 4000. say the remote domain xxx.com failed.

So what I did was, verify the tcp port 53 (dns mx),
then I used [x.x.x.x] in smart host and iMail to relay out
with user authentication. Everything work well, but
again sometime, when traffic is high, I still have such
msg in badmail, but funny part is no complaint from user.

In your case, since you have been here for 'so long'
everyone has told you what they wanted to, so I guess
now, it's probably a good time to give PSS a call,
log a case with them and even 'shout' at them....
