please help IIS "address already in use" error

Hi I have windows 2000 pro sp3 running IIS 5 which holds our intranet, this
morning the intranet was unavailable, when i checked the IIS panel it is
stopped, when i try to start the service it says that the "address is
already in use" what happened?!

I have a local address and also a live IP associated with the server,
nothing i try makes the thing work and simply reports the same dialogue,
anyone know what's going on here please??
