remote access

My web server machine needs to access a database on a remote server. Assume
that all settings have been correctly made on the remote server (new
account, log on locally, shares, etc.), yet the web server continues to
dispaly a permissions problem when trying to connect to the remote database.

What registry or metabase setting on the web server woul dcause this
situation?
