Hi group,
I'm trying to setup a virtual directory that's a share on another server,
and these are the steps that I took. Both servers (they being our intranet
server and this other member server) are on our local network. Both are
running Windows 2000 Server (member servers, not DCs) and are in the same
domain.
Created virtual directory pointing to \\otherserver\share called isshare
Disabled anonymous access and enabled integrated authentication
Verified that I have permissions to the share on otherserver.
Tried to access http://intranet/isshare
1. I got prompted for a password when accessing this url. Our entire
intranet is setup to use integrated authentication and I do not get prompted
elsewhere.
2. When I enter my name (domain\user and password or user@dotteddomain.com
and password) I am still not authorized to access this virtual directory.
Is there a step I'm missing? The share exists on otherserver. I have share
and NTFS permissions. I am NOT using anonymous access.
Thanks a lot,
Ray at work
