This might not solve your problem, but I would first confirm that SSL really
isn't working by doing https://localhost or otherwise accessing https from
inside the firewall, to eliminate the firewalls as being the problem. [If
it works inside the firewall and not outside the firewall, then you can
check the firewall logs to see if anything is being blocked and why it's
being blocked.]
