Hi Sebastian,

Start by *immediately* installing the IIS Security Rollup Package released
in April 2002. You can find it here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q319733

Next, reinstall Windows 2000 sp3, as there are updates for IIS that will
need to be reapplied.

Then, run the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, which you can get here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q320454

You can also consider installing URLScan and the IIS Lockdown Wizard. I
believe the results of the MBSA will give you information on these.

| Hi,
| I have Win 2000 Pro installed from a CD released in 1999.
| I have updated it through Windows Update to current.
| Today, i've just installed IIS 5.0. Should I install all
| patches and tools from Windows download for IIS (if so
| which ones) or was it taken care of through Windows
| Update?
|
| Thanks,
| Sebastien
