I have a directory on my site which is blocked from anonymous access. The
web server is a standalone server without a domain.
When I use Integrated Windows authorization for this directory, I can't
access these pages from any computer other than running IE on the web server
itself. I've tried administrator accounts, still no-go.
When I use basic authorization, however, it's OK.
Since Integrated auth. asks for a domain, while Basic doesn't, and since
access is allowed from the web server itself, I'm assuming there is some
problem with asking for a domain across the wire when there is no domain. I
tried using the workgroup and the computer name in place of a domain, but
I'm not getting anywhere.
Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks plenty.
