Hello,
I'm fairly new to IIS however I have been spending most of my
available time in the past two weeks learning about it. I am, however,
very confused by the authentication/passwords/ntfs passwords I keep
hearing about. I currently run IIS 5.1 at home. All I want to do is
make it so that certain areas of my website are password protected.
(i.e. when the user of my website clicks on a link a box pops up
asking for a username and password). So far I've had zero luck
figuring this out. I've managed to get the box to pop up by unchecking
the Anonymous access checkbox and checking the Basic Authentication
checkbox but where do i go to create user accounts. I clicked on
"Computer Management" and went to "local users and groups" and I saw
that there were multiple users and groups already listed. I've tried
to add a new user but when i do this new user gets an account on my
computer?!?! i only want it so that they get an account to connect to
my website. I'm lost....help!

Thanks!
