    Ok guys, sorry for the quick reply to my own mail, but I have the answer,
    the documentation appears to be wrong. You do not use the file format
    file///\\servername\sharename\* instead, you use the format
    file://\\servername\sharename\* (change the first of the three slashes (/)
    to a colon (:))
