Roles not found

I am using VS2005 and SQL Server 2005 as my RoleProvider. Using the ASP.NET web config tool I created a role and added users to it, I can see the role in the web config tool and in the SQL DB aspnetdb. I have this provider set as my defaultProvider in web.config. However, when I run Roles.GetAllRoles() nothing is returned. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause this?
