FYI -
Turns out it was red herring.
When a Web project is under VSS (SourceSafe) you can't copy it from one PC
to another.
You should clean out the folders and virtual and then retrieve the project
from VSS so it can build all of its indexes(?) correctly.
Also, Norton AV Real Time Protection causes VSS to run 10-20 times slower
than it should!
I run it over a VPN and now it is quite fast! Wish I knew that trick a
couple of months ago!
