    Hello Larry,

Let's troubleshoot the problems one by one.

First, please go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp to scan and download windows update for your
    system.

Second, please refer to the following KB artilce to quickly setup a form based authentication asp.net web app and run it on
those machines to see if the problem could be reproduced.
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=301240

For the dataset parsing problem, please use a datagrid to show the content of dataset firstly to see if the data is included
correctly in those machines which have problems.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

!I have multiple machines, some with 2000, some with XP,
!another with 2003 server. The problem I am having is that
!on some machines the re-direction to the default page does
!not take place after the logon page. It is just thrown
!back to the logon page. However this work on some clients.
    !
!I am thinking it might have to do with the java VM, it was
!in IE and then out and posibbility maybe a hotfix missing
!or a sequence issue or combination.
    !
!I am having a second problem that I think is releated.
!I am calling a class module that passes a datset and gets
!rendered in a excel spread***. On the client machine
!that fails it renders pieces of the default page in the
    !spread*** without the data.
    !
!But it works fine and correct from some clients
    !
!Maybe somebody has experienced the same problems
!and can point me in the right direction.
    !
    !
    !Thanks
    !
