Open Project from web (when trying to open from localhost), IDE stops responding?? VS /NET!!!

Open Project from web (when trying to open from localhost), IDE stops
responding?? VS /NET!!!
I have few ASP.Net (dotnet) projects [web projects] on my localhost.
I am able to go to c:\interpub\wwwroot\ProjName\MyPrj.sln and work
with my project,but when I try browsing to open it from the VS IDE
menu: File -> Open -> Project From Web,then one of my projects was
missing (I meen not showing in the open file dialog box that opens
exploring the "localhost"), I am a newbie with web development and
with IIS , so i was playing with the security properties of the IIS,
and it got worse. Now when ever i am trying to Open from web the
browsing animation plays for ever until i stop it and then the VS IDE
Stops Responding and needs to be closed.
Could be that i am missing some basic knowledge of how to deal with
IIS.
My machine is runnig XP OS, and I am my station administrator.
Any Idea or any help will be very appreciated.
