question - member downloads

Hi,
I have a secured member area which require people to login first.
In that area, there are certain downloads only available to members.
Those downloadable files actually locate at another machine.
How do I secure those files so only members can download them?
(i.e. other non-member won't be able to download them if they happen to know
the url for those files)
Never done this part before, so need your help.
