Is your Windows 2000 professional client a member of a domain or in a
workgroup? Does it have a static IP address or DHCP? Try adding it to a
domain or specifying an IP/DNS address. I cannot find anything that says a
W2K pro box cannot do this and it is the same on my XP pro machine. I have
found articles that tell how to do this and they reference Windows 2000
Professional/Server/Advanced/Datacenter.

Good luck!!
