Implementing the "Forms" authentication from the web root
directory web.config file appears to work as advertised
but when attempting to implement this on only a
subdirectory I am unable to get this to work. I only want
the pages in the subdirectory secure so I copied the
web.config file to that subdirectory and changed the
authentication to "Forms" and did the other stuff to point
to the login.aspx page, etc.

Before throwing all my error messages I just want to ask
if anyone has successfully secured only a subdirectory
with forms-based authentication? Are there some "gotchas"
I need to look for?

thanks,
Rick Baker
