I noticed yesterday that my routing table, which only connects to ip4
links, now has two ip6 addresses listed. One is for a local computer,
the other is for my gateway to comcast.net. In addition, ssp between
my two computers no longer works (password failure). I don't remember
ever seeing ip6 addresses in the routing table before. I tried to
remove them but they keep reappearing. How do I fix this problem.
Disable IPv6 on your unix platform? You'd have seen an IPv6 routing
table on your box as long as IPv6 is enabled. Nothing external can
suddenly turn that on for you.
In addition, where can I find a detailed explanation of the routing
table format?
THe route man page documents it somewhat, although something like the
Stevens book and/or reading the source probably will get you the low
level details.
