Hi all,
I have ESM 6.0 running on Solaris 9. I know that I can schedule jobs
to run from the console, but when I do it that way I end up with
reports on my pc. Instead, I would like to find a way to run them on
the manager itself (or the agent, which is another Solaris system) and
send the output to a file that can be downloaded/emailed from either
the agent or the manager.
I know I can do this from the cli, but as far as I can tell I would
have to set up an expect script or something to do this, which leaves
the option of having a password in plain text somewhere because you
have to login to the ESM manager before you can do
anything...obviously I don't want to do that.
I checked the knowledge base at symantecs site but it only really
covers bugs/problems and the users guide I have seems to lean more
towards the Windows side of things. I want all of this to happen on
either the agent or the manager, not from my pc running the console.
So this is a summary of what I hope to accomplish with ESM:
- schedule periodic policy runs on an agent
- send the output of these runs to a text file on either the manager
or agent (preferably the agent)
- make the file available by whatever means (email, scp, etc...)
TIA,
