    Hello,

After performing a nmap on one of my OSX based machines, I saw this
    output:

    >427/tcp open svrloc

Any of you have a clue on what this is, I googled a bit and it seems
    to be the
server location protocol. But I really don't want this port open for
    the outside "world".

Any clue's or insights on how I can disable this port, or at least
block it in some way? This is on a OSX box, but it also pops up on
    some solaris boxes.

I am blank here.. So... some assistance would be great!

    John
