Old vulnerability UNIX

Hi All

I am trying to identify a bug, which could be quite old.

I have been told that at some point somebody found a way to modify the
SUID bit of a file, whithout having to bee root. I was sceptical, so I
am asking you all if you ever heard of this, and point me to links where
this is explained in greater details...

Also, if this vulnerability doesn't yet exists, what would it take
"theorically" to realise it ?
