We are going from a non-trusted system to a Trusted HP-UX 10.20 UNIX
system.
Question - How will existing passwords be effected when Password Aging
is turned on? (e.g. our existing password policy states that passwords
must expire every 90 days, minum 1 day, warning message 3 days).
By turning this system into a Trusted system and enabling password
aging, will system force all user's password to be change upon next
login? Or will it be xx days from the implementation of Trusted
system that the changes will go into effect?
The reason why I am aksing this question is because we have some IDs
that we want to be EXCLUDED from these password aging controls. These
IDs can NEVER expire or be disabled or locked out. How do I exclude
these IDs from these changes? Is it better to implement the MINDAYS,
MAXDAYS, WARN, etc. at the user ID level or at the system-level?
In order words, I don't won't certain IDs to be effected by theses
Trusted password controls so how do I prevent these IDs from being
effected when the system is changed to a Trusted system?
Thanks,
Ms. Barbs Shores
