Because you have control. You can't possibly have that with
Windows--it's closed source (albeit some will argue that makes it
_maybe_ more secure--but for closed source, look at all the security
exploits found anyway). You can change how things work, run, what they
have compiled, how they are compiled, and so on and too many things to
list.
