Help stop scanning on the Internet!
Come to http://www.descan.net/download1.html and download our listening
agent and configure it to submit data to DeScan for analysis. DeScan.net
depends on collecting data from multiple sources on the Internet like yours
to help identify abusive scanners. To remind you, the DeScan listening
agent is a very small binary that sits on your Linux firewall looking at
anonymous incoming SYN packets. To be perfectly clear, this information is
completely anonymous. It only collects anonymous information about a
packet's Source IP, Destination IP and Destination Port. That is it. The
agent then sends the data to DeScan.net for analysis where we analyze the
data for trends. Data collected from agents like yours have helped identify
some 3000(?) scanners and discover SPIDA virus activity before the rest of
the world.
We need you!. Your data is very important in helping DeScan.net identify
abusive scanners. Please let us know if you experienced a technical issue
that prevented you from successfully running our agent. We would appreciate
any feedback you might have on the DeScan.net service.
If you have lost DeScan.net listening agent file, please go to:
http://www.descan.net/download1.html and enter your email address. You can
also download the listening agent Source Code there.
If you have decided to no longer participate in the DeScan effort, we'd love
to hear from you;call or write to let us know why.
