This is the primary reason why I'm always sure to post a summary
of any question I raise in a newsgroup. I often find myself
reading my own posting for answers 2-3 years later.
Then there's the well-known quote from Linus Torvalds:
"Backups are for wimps. Real men upload their data to an FTP
site and have everyone else mirror it."
