That's true. We currently only support an implicit SSL connection.
When we first wrote the Wrapper the spec mentioned both implicit and
explicit as viable alternatives. Since then they have dropped the
implicit connection (to my disappointment). We are looking at
extending support to an explicit connection, but as a Wrapper and not
a FTP server this configuration is more complicated for an
administrator.
This addition will hopefully be done soon.
