I use SSH all they long to my companys servers and have also experience
big problems, especially when using X so usually I only run text based
    when I can.

BUT, in my company we had a louse old hub on the same network as the
login server and after changed to a new switch I have a shell(to home)
thats been up for a week now, thats first time!!!

I can't say that the switch has made the change but so far it works
    right now.

    /michael
