To be honest, I don't know everything the OpenSSH client can do. I
use OpenSSH at home, but only as a command line tool to a machine
on the same network.

Yes, I use it to access web and IMAP servers. Open a connection and
a port on the remote machine appears to be one on the local machine.
It also comes with scp (pscp) and other utilities.

I think I worked it out fairly easily from the supplied documentation.
