My first guess would be that the router isnt forwarding the port correctly.
I've had the systems behind my router be re-assigned addresses, so I lock
them down (dhcp would give it 192.168.1.100 one day, 1.101 a few days later,
etc). That way my linux system is always at 192.168.1.5 on my house LAN, and
the router is forwarding the port correctly.
Do you get any kind of response if you telnet to the port from inside the
LAN?
