Back when I was on a dynamic IP address, I used a script on my system
that hit one of the many pages that tells you your IP address,
compared the result to the previous time it did the same thing, and
e-mailed me (at an external account) if anything changed.
In the long run, though, I found it _much_ better to just pay the
extra $5 or whatever per month for a static IP address that wasn't in
the DHCP address space.
