done, but nothing changes. I have also tried different combinations of
MTU sizes and enabling/disabling pmtu.
Reading about pmtu problems (I am a programmer, so I am learning a lot
of things) I have seen that is usually considered an error to disable
icmp leaving PMTU enabled. The server machine I need to talk to has
NOT disabled icmp, but it doesn't ping, so I presume it's the firewall
blocking icmp.
All this doesn't explain why my iMac is happy with every combination
of MTU/pmtu I tried on the server, and my linus box is conversely
unhappy with all of them :(
