As an alternative, consider using autossh + OpenSSH in Cygwin. autossh
starts and maintains an ssh connection, restarting it if it stops
passing data. You can set it up to run as a system service, which will
then automatically establish your tunnels unattended at boot time. Of
course, in order for that to work you'll need to provide either an ssh-
agent or an unencrypted (passwordless) key, but that is always true for
unattended logins.
Once you've set this up, you won't see any console windows, and in fact
you won't have to think about your tunnel at all. It will just be there
working from boot. For details see usr/share/doc/autossh/README.Cygwin.
