OK. I debugged it a little more, and ended up with an even stranger
problem. I should explain the layout of the machines better. A main
machine called gecko, and 5 other machines called gecko2 to gecko6.
The problem I mentioned earlier is a problem if I try to connect from
gecko to any other machine with a normal user account. However, if I
try to connect to gecko from outside with X forwarding, and then try
to connect to one of the other machines, it opens a new window, asking
questions about adding the host to list of known hosts and then
another window for password.
This means that it works only if I try connecting from outside with
X11 forwarding turned on, and never will work on command prompt.
(Phew!!) I need to be able to connect from command prompt.
The new window it opens to ask the question is titled OpenSSH
Passphrase Authentication
Any ideas what the config for that should be, so that I can use it on
the command prompt without X?
Thanks,
Anoop
