Hi,

I'm trying to use public key authentication on OpenSSH3.4, RedHat Linux
8.0. It seems that my problem is the home directory not being local.
It's on AFS space. I can change my home directory to local directory but
that's the last thing I want to do.

Does any one have experience of changing default SSH directory, the
default value of which is $HOME/.ssh. I tried symbolic link from
$HOME/.ssh to local HDD but that didn't work. Because I had public key
authentication work with test account whose home directory is local, I
believe having local home should solve my problem.

Thanks in advance.
